Philippine Music Artist - Jed Madela pulled off a surprise release of his new album Iconic this week! According to  MYXclusive interview, Jed said that he is very happy with the support of Star Music, his family, and close friends in the entertainment industry during the album’s production! 

Jed shocked his fans by making a big announcement on Instagram about the album which was launched exclusively on a streaming service! According to the world champion performer, he decided to unveil the surprise album online to reach a wider audience!

True to its title, the 14-track album is packed with his own versions of iconic songs from equally iconic artists like Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion!

Jed experimented with a new sound and beat in the tracks “Beautiful” and “Like A Prayer” (Brian Cua Sunset Remix)! He came up with an original composition “Welcome To My World” which is an EDM-laced track as well! You also have to watch out for his collaboration with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”! 

He co-produced Iconic along with Jonathan Manalo. Speaking of which, he also mentioned that he is very willing to produce more music projects and even directing a music video! “I am now inspired to direct or produce more music projects because I want to experience working behind the scenes”, he said.

Kim Chiu Release a New Album 'Chinita Princess'

Philippine Stars/Music Artist - Primetime drama princess Kim Chiu has finally returned to recording with a new album titled “Chinita Princess,” The new album marks Kim’s first solo release since her 2007 hit album “Gwa Ai Di.” According to her, “Chinita Princess” is a reflection of her optimism, a result of looking at life from a positive perspective. which will be released nationwide by Star Music on April 27.

She also dedicates her long-awaited album to her fans, young boys and girls, and those who are young-at-heart.

The tracklist of “Chinita Princess,” produced by Rox Santos, includes her latest single “Mr. Right,” “Darating Din,” a revival of Myrus’ “Wala Man Sa’Yo Ang Lahat,” “Say We Don’t Care,” “Express Yourself,” and “Someday (Crazy Love),” a remake of her 2007 hit. Minus one versions of the songs are also part of the album.

Star Music Launched 'OPM FRESH' Album this Summer

Star Music has launched a compilation album called “OPM Fresh,” which features up-and-coming local talents from various genres. Some are in groups, others are solo.

More than being an album, OPM Fresh is also a platform for new artists to shine, according to Star Music audio content head Jonathan Manalo.

“Sa sobrang daming young talents ngayon, why not create a platform na puwede mo silang i-launch doon?” he said. “Kung ang Star Magic meron silang Star Circle for the artistas, ang Star Music naman may OPM Fresh. It will be a regular thing.”

Jonathan added that after the first compilation album, another batch will be released sometime in July or August.

New artists recruited by Star Music, according to Jonathan, go through a rigorous audition process. Hopefuls can do walk-ins to the Star Music office in ABS-CBN, Quezon City or participate in open-mic sessions that Star Music conducts in the presence of its executives.

Though others are direct referrals from Star Magic, Jonathan said that they still go through the same screening process.

With OPM Fresh, Jonathan hopes that Star Music can also give rise to successors of senior artists.

“Yeng (Constantino) is going on her 10th year, Erik (Santos) is more than 10 years na, ‘yung mga iba pang seniors nila, so nagde-develop tayo ng succession bench nung mga senior artists that came before them, so parang sino ang next?” he explained.

The “OPM Fresh” compilation album has 13 tracks with two bonus cuts (Alex Gonzaga’s “Break na Tayo” and Iñigo Pascual’s “Lullabye-Bye”).

It will be available on Monday, March 2, in all record bars nationwide. You can also stream the songs on Spotify.

James Reid New Upcoming Album 'REID ALERT'

Sound the alarm because James Reid is back! Fans of the hot, young star are on high alert as their favorite actor-singer has just dropped his latest album entitled “Reid Alert.”

The 21-year old “Diary Ng Panget” male lead has always had music in his soul, and after sampling some good R&B-flavored pop in his self-titled album, he’s back and ready to lay down more of the groove!

 The six-track album “Reid Alert,” opens with a certified fan-favorite in the funkified pop of “Huwag Ka Nang Humirit.” Uptempo and energetic, “Huwag Ka Nang Humirit” sees James in a dancing mood. In case you missed it, that’s James with the G-Force dancers breaking out some slick moves in that cool, black and white video. Talk about triple-threats! James can act, sing and dance!

And that’s just the start. There’s more and James didn’t hold back on the surprises for his second outing. Working with Canadian super-producer Adam Hurstfield (Super Junior, Ne-Yo, Sarah Geronimo), James offers up ultra-pop-py track “10.” With Hurstfield at the helm, James’ sound is given that American Top 40 pop sheen. Pop and dub music elements find even ground on this track and James certainly had fun singing about his perfect “10” girl. And that’s Filipina-Canadian pop star Elise Estrada rapping on the break by the way.

Female fans of James wouldn’t know how to contain themselves when they hear their favorite Fil-Aussie on “Randomantic.” While there’s hints of electro pop here, what James is actually singing about are traditional Pinoy guy-girl courting rituals like the “harana” (serenade). Now what girl wouldn’t want a guy like James, singing outside their window professing his love for everyone to hear? Swoon alert, we know!

Hot young songwriters Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana wrote the bulk of the songs in “Reid Alert,” (not including “10”) and they’ve chosen James to spread the sound of neo-Pinoy pop–R&B flavored pop songs, with standout lyrics that exemplify today’s Pinoy sensibilities. Tracks like “Bonfire Love Song,” and “Babalik” are fine examples—catchy pop with an undeniably dance-y groove, with memorable lyrics to boot!

Then finally there’s “Hanap-Hanap,” wherein James sings with his co-lead actor and breakout star Nadine Lustre. This pair’s certainly got great chemistry on screen and it even extends on audio tape as the pair shows on previous hits like “Bahala Na,” and “No Erase.” “Hanap-Hanap” is certainly as memorable as their previous song pairings and we know that Jadine Fans on the planet would agree.

Jed Madela Releases ‘All Original’ Album

World singing champion Jed Madela feels nothing but excitement about the launch of his debut album titled “All Original” released by his new recording label Star Records.

“It’s my first full project with Star Records and it is also my first all-original album,” said Jed. “We have put so much work into it that the very moment I heard the final tracks, I am already looking forward to sharing it with everyone who has been supporting my music.”

“All Original” features songs, which according to Jed, are new and far from usual. “Everything sounds different and the songs express different feelings. Actually, each one can be a potential single on its own,” said Jed, who is set to celebrate later this year his 10th anniversary in the music industry. “Of course, the signature ‘high note ballads’ wil be in the album but there are tracks that will make the listeners wonder if it is really me singing.”

Jesse McCartney Have It All Album

Have It All is the upcoming fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney. Originally planned for release on December 28, 2010, the album is now set to be released in 2012.

On December 3, 2010, McCartney officially announced through his Facebook page that he pushed the release date for the album back to early 2011. On April 7, 2011, McCartney responded to a question on his Twitter page about the delay, saying "The Release of Have It All has been put on hold until we hear about the outcome of [Locke & Key]", the television series in which he had a lead role. On November 3, McCartney said via his WhoSay page "2012 is still the magic year for the record to finally come out."

McCartney commented on the album in an interview with Billboard as, "It's full of sexy, four-on-the-floor beats with big pop melodies... but yet again, some rhythmic, R&B stuff that's pushing the envelope a little bit more for me as an artist," "I wanted to make sure that there were no boundaries. I'm 23, and I wanted to make sure there was nothing boxing me in musically or content-wise."

The lead single from the album, "Shake", was sent to radio on September 8, 2010 and was released digitally on September 21, 2010. The song debuted at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100. It then fell off but re-entered at #78 and re-peaked at #54.

If you look at the succession of Carrie Underwood's album artworks, from "Some Hearts" to "Carnival Ride" to "Play On," the country superstar seems to become more serious on each new cover, the warm smile of her debut quickly becoming a worried gaze. The artwork for "Blown Away," Underwood's forthcoming fourth album whose title and album cover were unveiled on Monday (Mar. 5), finds Underwood delivering her gravest expression yet, as she stands tall in a dark meadow and looks out into the blackened sky.

Rihanna Talk That Talk Review Album

Think of Rihanna as the anti- Dr. Dre: "Talk That Talk," her sixth studio album, arrives exactly one year and five days after her last album, "Loud," hit stores. That album is still going strong on the charts (No. 56 last week on the Billboard 200), as is its latest single, "Cheer (Drink To That)" (No. 58 on the Hot 100). Coming so soon after her last full-length, "Talk That Talk" feels like a special present for Rihanna's navy of fans, and an oddly rushed-out release to the objective music fan. Why not wait a bit and let the buzz of "Loud" settle in?

Because, as a few listens of "Talk That Talk" proves, Rihanna just won't let her reign let up. The Barbadian pop star came a little too close to a misfire with "Rated R," her 2009 album and her first since her destructive relationship with Chris Brown ended. "Rated R" was fascinating but at times too dark, while "Loud" was the blissed-out antidote pop fans craved, a cavalcade of cheeky erotica and stunning production. After reclaiming her crown on "Loud" and proving her longevity, Rihanna is not about to take any sort of break to let her pop princess competitors catch up. Haters can "talk that talk," but in the end, Rihanna's going to do her thing, put out a new album and collect more No. 1 singles.

Rihanna is shooting for more crowd-pleasing music -- and what's more universal than the concept of love? "We Found Love," "Drunk on Love," "We All Want Love" and other "Talk" songs that don't happen to have "Love" in the title all offer simple, gorgeous-sounding accounts of romance. And when she's not needing love, she's wanting sex; Rihanna coos, "I love it, I love it, I love it when you eat it," on "Cockiness (Love It)," and we're pretty sure she's not talking about the chicken pot pie she left for dinner. Although the lyrics on "Talk That Talk" are broad, the soundscapes here are even more dance-floor-appropriate, with tracks like "We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been" barely masking their European pop influences. "Talk That Talk" often thrives when Rihanna is unafraid to step aside and let this nasty collections of beats do the talking.

As quickly as it's being released after "Loud," "Talk That Talk" is a fleshed-out statement that captures Rihanna's relentless drive and will likely keep her on top. This album's not a victory lap; it's a whole new race.

3. We Found Love -- Through a haze of glitter and bliss, Rihanna emerges to let us find a gorgeous hook in a hopeless place, and Calvin Harris becomes a household name.

4. Talk That Talk -- The "Umbrella" duo reunites, with Jay-Z dropping more double entendres and Rih in cruise control over a descending beat.

5. Cockiness (Love It) -- "Suck my cockiness, lick my persuasion," Rihanna sings with a knowing wink over this Bangladesh-helmed sequel to "S&M." Filthy and fantastic, when it gets going.

6. Birthday Cake -- Look, we're all for birthday-themed naughtiness in pop music form (see: Jeremih). But only 78 seconds of "Birthday Cake" is just not enough of a celebration!

7. We All Want Love -- "We all wanna be somebody's one and only." It's a sentiment Rihanna expresses with aching seriousness over a grounded guitar riff on this affecting ballad.

8. Drunk on Love -- Dynamic production. Killer sample of the xx. Rihanna displaying full range. It all comes together on "Drunk on Love." Single, please?

9. Roc Me Out -- More come-ons over a twinkling synth-pop instrumental. Enjoyably tawdry, but we've heard it more interestingly earlier in the album.

10. Watch N Learn -- Rihanna professes to being a sexpert, and offers her guys a few tips. The balance between synths and percussion is taut and engaging here.

11. Farewell -- A kiss-off anthem that's structurally similar to Beyonce's "Halo" and gets a boost from a powerhouse bridge. Farewell until next November, Rihanna?
