After releasing her second studio album, Alive, in the UK on September 22, 2013, Jessie J announced that the american version of the album would be released later that year. However, the american version was cancelled because her american label, Republic Records, didn't think the album's material would work in the States. Early in 2014, it was announced that Jessie J was working on her third album which was recorded entirely in US. She worked with hit-makers such as Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, who wrote and produced the album's lead single, Bang Bang.

Sweet Talker is the third studio album by British singer-songwriter Jessie J. It's scheduled to be released on 13 October 2014 in the UK and 14 October 2014 Worldwide through Island Records and Universal Republic. American rap artist 2 Chainz, singer Ariana Grande and American female hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj all make guest appearances on the album. Jessie co-wrote the album and worked with The-Dream, Diplo, Tricky Stewart, Max Martin, Ammo and amongst a host of collaborators from both new and old. The album was preceded by the lead single, Bang Bang, which features American singer Ariana Grande and Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj was released on July 29th, 2014 and was a critical and commercial success, reaching the top 10 in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, and The United States.
The album's first single, "Bang Bang" featuring Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj was released on July 29, 2014 through Lava Records and Republic Records, the label that houses all three artists, and serves as a joint single. Commercially, the song fared well, debuting at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Jessie's J highest peaking song on the Billboard charts (next to "Domino" in 2012, which also peaked at number six). It also reached the top 10 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The second single from the album, "Burning Up", featuring 2 Chainz has yet to be released.
