Former Disney star Miley Cyrus has successfully transitioned from television, to music, and film. She's barely 20 and she's already achieved quite a lot.
Even after being racked by controversies over her personal lifestyle and choices, Miley continues to prove her star power with a solid fan base behind her. Her appeal lies in her ability to connect with her audience through music that touches on issues of the youth.
Miley also makes sure that she puts a personal touch on her song. She co-wrote eight of the 13 songs on her first solo album, "Breakout," and with her debut single "7 Things," which talks about faithless love, she has firmly established her presence in the music industry. Though she's not all about angst, the album also features a rendition of Cindy Lauper "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."
