“The Pinkprint” is the third studio album by American rapper Nicki Minaj, scheduled to be released on December 15, 2014, by Young Money, Cash Money and Republic Records. Looking to depart from the dance-pop elements from her second studio album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012), Minaj wanted to make a follow-up record influenced by her traditional hip hop. She collaborated with producers including Boi-1da, Cirkut, Da Internz, Detail, Dr. Luke, and Polow da Don to achieve her desired sound.
Straying musically from her second studio album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded“, released in 2012, which experimented with pop and dance musical styles, she intended to incorporate elements of her traditional hip-hop music in its follow-up. The album comes preceded by the lead single “Pills N Potions“, released on May 21st. The second official single is the track “Anaconda“, released on August 4th. On October 26, Minaj revealed the cover art for her third single “Only” which features Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown via Instagram, The song was released on October 28.
